Audio - Kisses Don't Lie / I Can't Take It - 2009 - Soul Junction

Soul Junction are at it again - releasing quality soul tracks that will get the old excitement flowing. We all know and love Vincent Broomfield and his "Audio" alter-ego from back in the day, and it's taken a shocking 18 years for the man to dish up another great slice of soul music! This lead single is taken from the upcoming NEW Audio album and if this is anything to go by, we are in for a real, solid treat! "Kisses Don't Lie" is a new song and not a cover of Evelyn King's great, great 80s song. This is, though, very much of that era. This is a solid, dependable uptempo effort that would not be out of place in the late 1980s. This is one of THOSE songs that will get the feet tapping and uplift the soul. Vincent also sounds VERY much like dear brother Eugene here, too.

The flip side is, I hope, taken from the same album. This ballad is first-rate and again reminds me of quality RnB from the mid to late 1980s. It has a Paul Laurence / Stone Jones kinda feel to it, and fans of the man and, say, Kashif or Eric Gable will really dig this particular groove. Soul Junction have really come up trumps with these soulful nuggets and have proven that they don't intend on becoming a niche label set in any particular decade. We have the Falcons from the 60s and 70s, Duane Williams from the 70s and now a brand spanking new release from a firm, old favourite! It's all good, I tell ya! A worthwhile release!
